Bringing Baby Home

The first year after your baby is born is often the most difficult on your relationship. This program, designed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, helps you maintain a strong relationship with your partner while giving your baby solid, consistent love and care.

This two-day workshop is best suited for expecting couples and parents of infants to help you:

  • Stay connected with your partner
  • Ensure that both partners stay involved in parenting
  • Better understand early childhood development and the emotional needs of your child
  • Improve your interactions with your baby
  • Create a caring and nurturing home

Two out of three couples experience a dramatic increase in conflict and hostility after the birth of a child. These issues have a profoundly negative effect on children and a lasting impact on their development. Couples who have taken the Bringing Baby Home workshop show a significantly lower rate of postpartum depression and a much higher level of relationship satisfaction.

What to expect

Each workshop is led by a counselor holding a master's degree in social work, counseling, or other related field. See our Calendar of Parenting Groups and Workshops at the top of this page for our upcoming schedule. We welcome all expecting or new parents to join.
