Cornerstone Classrooms
Our Cornerstone Classrooms are small, therapeutic classrooms for children with emotional and behavioral challenges.
Few Childcare centers are equipped to help children with ongoing behavioral challenges. At Wellspring Family Services our specially trained teachers and clinical staff can support the emotional development of preschool-age children to help them prepare for school and success in life.
Is Cornerstone Classrooms a good fit for your child?
- Does your child having difficulty forming relationships and playing with other children?
- Is transitioning from one activity to another particularly difficult?
- Does listening, communicating and paying attention seem more challenging for your child than?
- Was your child asked to leave a preschool program because of behaviors such as hitting, biting, crying out of control or the inability to adapt to a classroom routine?
If you answered 'yes' to any of the above questions, then your child may benefit from a smaller group classroom setting and more individual attention.
Our classroom program is based on the model of Reflective Network Therapy developed by Dr. Gilbert Kliman, MD. We meet children in a natural setting – a classroom – and work with them through play and socialization with other children. Children, teachers, parents and therapists work together to provide a reflective network with the goal of understanding the child's experiences and behaviors. This enables the child to become more in touch with his/her own thoughts and feelings. It also increases their ability to respond in more appropriate ways and gain more control of themselves.

We provide year-round therapeutic preschool for children ages 3-5 years old. We welcome 5-7 children per classroom with two certified teachers and a licensed therapist. Our teachers follow a curriculum that is developmentally and educationally- appropriate and tailored to the needs of individual children and the group. Our therapist works individually with each child on a daily basis in the classroom.
